Annapurna Base Camp trek is the one of the best trek in Nepal to approach close to the snow mountain and walk on snow through the year. Annapurna base camp trek and Annapurna century treks are same. The height of the Annapurna Base camp is about 4200 meter or 13650 feet. Annapurna base camp lies just on the lap of the Mountain Annapurna First, Annapurna south and Hiunchuli. As trekkers arrived to Annapurna base camp they found they are surrounded by the Himalayas. In most of the year   the whole trail from Deurali to Annapurna base camp is covered by snow and in March, April there is more than 5/6 feet snow on the trail. Trekkers could walk through it. The adventure to walk upon snow for 4/5 hours is wonderful. Annapurna base camp trek can be start from Phedi and Naya pul or new bridge. The best season to trek to Annapurna base camp trek is Octuber,November,decmber and March,April,May. But this trek can be done through out the year.In monsoon there are a lot of leeches on the way to trail and in winter some time the trail is blocked by the snow.Most of the time the trail pass through the gorge.Annapurna base camp trek is the moderate trek.

Annapurna Base Camp trekking falls within the Annapurna Conservation Area, a project called ACAP for the environmental and cultural protection. Many plants native to Nepal, variety of birds and animals, including snow leopards and blue sheep, around 100 varieties of orchids and some of the richest temperate rhododendron forest in the world are particular attraction of Annapurna area.

In Annapurna base camp trail there is the inhabitant of Gurung and Magar indigenous people in Nepal and they are rich in their culture and tradition. On the way to Annapurna base camp trekking we can explore the Gurung museum.

Accommodations

In Kathmandu we provide 2 star equivalent hotel like international guest house with bed and breakfast. In trekking we provide attached toilet room in low lands. As we arrive to higher elevation it is difficult to get attached toilet room and single room in peak season. In peak season we have to share the room. But we try to provide single room if it is possible.

Foods and drinks

In trekking we can get all kinds of food and select from menu and can have as you like. We do not recommend to eat any kinds of meat that is carried local porters from low land walking with 2-3 days. In trekking region they are not allowed to kill any animals. We recommend to eat all kind of vegetarian food and eggs. You can have meat as you arrive to low lands, Pokhara and Kathmandu. You can get all kind of drinks in trekking route. We recommend to drink Mineral water, boiled water or purified water. Purifying tablet is provided by our guide. All kinds of cold drinks and beers are available in tea houses. In higher elevation we do not recommend to drink hard drink.

Guide and porter

We provide English speaking guide and some guide they can speak extra language like, Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian. Extra language guide is not included in this cost. On request of guest we provide extra language guide with extra cost. Our guides and porters are very helpful, kind and dedicated on their duty. Every day they pass massage to us about the situation of the guest, weather in Trekking.

How hard is to go to Annapurna base camp trek?

Annapurna base camp trek is a moderate trek due to many up and down hills though there are hundreds of beautiful breathtaking scenery. If you have good practice to walk up and down hills it is not so hard. The trekking trail pass along narrow slippery gorges road. There are many places on the way to trail which are really danger of landslides and avalanches. Many time I got encounter with landslides and avalanches. You can make it easy if you follow some rules and regulations before starting your treks towards Annapurna base camp. After Bamboo it is better to walk in the morning. Because the snow piles got freeze whole night and in sunny day they start to melt or break and come down as a big avalanche. To protect from high-altitude sickness if tourists walk slowly and steadily with many breaks on the way to trek they can acclimatize easily and the trek will be easy. On the way to trek each 1 to 2 hours there are available of tea houses and tourists could have enough liquids and rest. If possible try to practice walking through up and down steeps, Jogging and swimming are equally helpful. Any exercise that is convenient to you and helps you to be fit is recommended.

How long does it take to get to Annapurna base camp?

Detail Itinerary

01 Day: Arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel with our office representative

02 Day: Half-day sightseeing tour Bouddhanath (Buddhist Stupa) and Pashupatinath, a biggest temple of Lord Shiva includes Cremation. Trek preparation

03 Day: Drive to Pokhara through beautiful mountain road along the sight of Trishuli and Marshyandi River. Lunch is provided on the way at the river bank restuarant and overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara

04 Day: About 20 minutes drive to Phedi and about one hour uphill trek to Dhampus and two hours almost flat trail to Pothana (1,990m)

05 Day: Breakfast and walk about 45 minutes flat trail to Deurali and 30 minutes steep down and two hours flat trek to Landruk (1,646m)

06 Day: Breakfast, walk about 30 minutes down and one hour gradually up trail to Himalpani and take shower in hot water spring and walk two hours steep to Chhomrong (2,170m)

07 Day: Breakfast - walk about five hours up and downs to Dovan (2,610m)

08 Day: Breakfast -walk about five hours to Deurali (3,231m)

09 Day: Breakfast and the trek goes all the way gradually up to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m) in four hours

10 Day: Breakfast and 2 hours trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,200m). Whole day you can make excursion tour to wonderful glacier and stay overnight.

11 Day: Breakfast - walk about five hours down to Himalaya (2,873m) 

12 Day: Breakfast - walk about six up and down trek back to Chhomrong (2,170m)

13 Day: Breakfast and about one hour gradually down and four hours up trek to Tadapani (2,600m)

14 Day: Breakfast and about 7 hours up and down hill trek to Ghorepani (2,800m) Poon hill (3,200m)

15 Day: Early in the morning about 45 minutes uphill trek to Poon hill (3,200m) to view the beautiful Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nil Giri Himal and Dhampus Peak. Poon hill is one of the best view points in Nepal. Trek back to hotel and have breakfast and trek about four hours down to Tirke Dhunga (1,577m)

16 Day: Breakfast -trek about four hours down to Birethanti (New Bridge) and drive about 45 minutes to Pokhara

17 Day: Rest day in beautiful town Pokhara

18 Day: Fly /drive back to Kathmandu and farewell dinner

19 Day: Drop off at the airport and departure for selected destination
