The cable car in Nepal is very unique. It is the only cable car in Kurintar, Nepal. It is the best transport to reach to the famous Manakamana Hindu Temple, situated about 104km south-west of Kathmandu Valley. Manakamana Temple leis on top of the beautiful hill at the height of 1302m from the sea level. On the north side of the temple, we can see amazing view of Annapurna range, Manaslu Himalaya above 8000m and many other snowcapped mountains. Before the cable car service, people used to walk about three hours uphill to reach to the temple. Now it takes only about ten minutes to make 2.8km cable car tour to the temple. The bottom station of the cable car is 258m from the sea.

Manakamana Temple belongs to goddess Bhagbati, one of the representations of goddess Parbati, the wife of lord Shiva. She is very important and popular goddess in Hindu religion and among Hindu people. “Mana” means the heart and “Kamana” means wish. Therefore, people believe that she grants the wishes to those who visit and worship her.

On the way to Manakamana, the tourists get to view very beautiful green hills, villages and Trishuli River, often with rafters.  On the way to Manakamana Temple, tourists can do about two hours rafting till the cable car station.
