Everest Region

Trekking in the Everest region is a lifetime opportunity to explore Mount Everest (8848m), the highest mountain in the world known as Sagarmatha in the Nepali language. This trek is within the Everest National Park, nominated by UNESCO in the list of world heritage sites.

Since its establishment in 1976 by the government of Nepal, this park has been contributing to protecting the Himalayas, and Himalayan wildlife, culture, and flora and fauna. Sherpas are the major Buddhist tribe of this region.

Trekking routes

The Everest region offers world-popular trekking routes. The very popular trek from Lukla to Kalapathar provides spectacular views of Mt. Everest and other Himalayas. The Gokyo Lake trekking is very popular for the fantastic view of the Lake and the beauty of the surrounding mountains. The Rolbaling trekking offers the Sherpa culture and wildlife in addition to wonderful mountain views. In the Everest trek, we approach the base camp or very close to the base camp of these mountains.

Many adventurous high passes during the trek are worth crossing over. In most of the trekking routes, there are nice hotels, lodges, teahouses, and restaurants with basic facilities.

The main attractions

Mountains and Peaks: Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho You, and Thamaserku, Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori, and Island Peak.

Sherpa Villages: Everest trek takes you to the wonderful Sherpa villages such as Namche Bazar, Khumjung, and Pangboche.

Monasteries: The beautiful monasteries in the Thame, Khumjung, Tengboche, and Pangboche and other villages give you a feeling of peace and love. These Buddhist monasteries are public gathering places to celebrate Buddhist festivals such as Dumje and Mane Rumdu.

Animals and Birds: Everest region is the habitat of the mountain animals like the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, and Himalaya Thar and birds such as Nepal’s national bird Impeyan Pheasant, Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red Billed Cough.

Flore and Fauna: Fir, Juniper, Birch, and Rhododendron (known as Gurans in the Nepali language) are beautiful plants found in this area.
