Annapurna circuit trek
Annapurna circuit trek is one of the marvelous trekking routes in Annapurna Conservation Area. It is one of the adventure trekking trails in the world. It is counted as top ten best trekking trail in the world. In Annapurna circuit, the tourists explore the wonderful views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himal and Nilgiri and Tilicho Peak.
The landscape is wonderful in this trek. Till 3,000m, we can get green plants and beautiful hills. Above 3,000m, we get the ragged terrain with hills. In downhill, we can get mix up culture of Gurung, Magar, Chhetri, Bahun, Dalit caste and ethnic groups. They have their own culture and community. Most of the Gurung and Magar ethenic groups live together in the amazing villages in Annapurna region. As we arrive to higher elevation, we get Manangi people migrated from Tibet whose culture and tradition is similar to Tibetan. Between Jomsom to Tatopani, the majority of people are Thakali. In Marpha, we see the beautiful apple and appricote gardens. On the way to trekking, we visit many Gompas and Muktinath temple with eternal burning natural flame.
Flora and fauna in annapurna circuit are really interesting.
Naming of the Annapurna circuit trek and Annapurna Himal
The name of the Annapurna circuit trek was derived from the Name of the Mount Annapurna or Annapurna Himal. The trek trail starts from Beshisahar and goes behind the Mount Annapurna and ends at Pokhara. So the trail makes almost one round or circuit of the Mount Annapurna and people started to say Annapurna circuit trek or Round Annapurna Trek. Annapurna is the one god in Hindu religion. Anna means Food grains and purna means full fill. According to local legend the snow covered White Mountain helped the local farmers to grow their food grains. Sometime if they cannot grow the food grains enough due to crisis of rain then they think the White Mountain is not happy with them. So to make happy the mountain they worship each year in some special festival time. Some time there is heavy snowfall, heavy rain, landslides, avalanches and any kinds of disaster. People think it is due to the snow covered White Mountain and gave name as Annapurna Himal.
Annapurna circuit trek starts from about 900 meter and approaches about 5415 meters. So there live many different tribes of Nepali people. In downhill there is mix up society like Bahun, chhetri, Magar, Gurung, Dalit, Manange till Thorongla pass (5415 meters). As we crossed the Thorongla pass then we got Thakali people and they are tough in business mind.In Manag there is measurity of Managi people and they said themselves they are Gurung and highly influenced by Tibetan culture and tradition. They are Buddhist by religion. In downhill there is measurity of Magar, Gurung, Dalit, Bahun and chhetri. They have also their own culture and tradition. They are mix up in religion like Hindu and Buddhist.
How hard is Annapurna Trek?
Annapurna trek is hardest trek in Nepal. The trek starts from about (900 meters) and approaches till 5415 meters. The trail is nice and goes gradually up. If you are fit then you can walk faster otherwise you have to walk slowly and steadily. If you walk slowly and long time you can arrive to you destination easily and meet the everyday itinerary. Thorongla pass is the difficult part of this trek.As we are going to pass Thorongla we have to take enough water and energetic foods that gives immediate energy.Becuase only after 7 hours trek we can get another destination.
Weather of Annapurna circuit trek
The weather of Annapurna circuit varies from each month and each area due to elevation change. In low lands it is sunny during the day time and night cold. But in higher elevation it is very cold and freezing even in summer. In winter December to February most of the time the trekking trail is closed due to heavy snow fall. But the best time to trek is September to November and March to June. But in my experience I had done this trek many times in monsoon too. In Monsoon there is problem in lower part of trek. In lower part there is heavy rain and sometime landslide and difficult to cross the waterfalls. But in higher elevation there is very less rain.so monsoon doesn’t disturb.
In Kathmandu we provide 2 star equivalent hotel like international guest house with bed and breakfast. In trekking we provide attached toilet room in low lands. As we arrive to higher elevation it is difficult to get attached toilet room and single room in peak season. In peak season we have to share the room. But we try to provide single room if it is possible.
Foods and drinks
In trekking we can get all kinds of food and select from menu and can have as you like. We do not recommend to eat any kinds of meat that is carried local porters from low land walking with 2-3 days. In trekking region they are not allowed to kill any animals. We recommend to eat all kind of vegetarian food and eggs. You can have meat as you arrive to Pokhara and Kathmandu. You can get all kind of drinks in trekking route. We recommend to drink Mineral water, boiled water or purified water. Purifying tablet is provided by our guide. All kinds of cold drinks and beers are available in tea houses.
Guide and porter
We provide English speaking guide and some guide they can speak extra language like, Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian. Extra language guide is not included in this cost. On request of guest we provide extra language guide with extra cost. Our guides and porters are very helpful, kind and dedicated on their duty. Every day they pass massage to us about the situation of the guest, weather in Trekking.
Safety of the guest and trekking staffs
Safety is the most important factor in trekking for the tourists and trekking staffs. We are highly concern about the safety of the guest as well as our trekking staffs. If there is small mistake with high-altitude sickness, landslides, crossing rivers, heavy rain, heavy snowfall, walking on slippery trail as well as walking along the gorges trail people can lose their lives. If we face these problems in trekking then we stop for while or bring our guest in safe places.
