Altitude sickness, also known as mountain sickness, typically begins at 3000 meters. However, most trekking trails in Nepal reach heights of up to 5550 meters. For those who are not very fit, it is advisable to choose an easier trekking trail to avoid the effects of high altitude sickness. We offer many easy and short trek plans that are less than 3000 meters high. If you decide to trek to higher elevations such as Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit, you will be reaching almost 5550 meters. Therefore, we advise our guests to engage in exercises such as jogging, swimming, and cycling 3 to 4 months before starting the trek. Upon arrival in Nepal, our experts will provide you with some tips that you must follow, which will help ensure the success of your trip. Normally, we walk for 4 to 6 hours a day from one destination to another during trekking. However, you can extend this to 8 hours by walking very slowly, which will help you acclimatize better. It is important to drink 3 to 5 liters of liquid to maintain sufficient oxygen levels in the body as we ascend to higher elevations, where the air contains lower levels of oxygen. It is essential to consume foods that are rich in carbohydrates, as these provide the necessary energy. It is also important to eat frequently, but not in large quantities at one time. If you do not experience a loss of appetite, it indicates good health. Furthermore, it is crucial to avoid alcohol and smoking, as these can dehydrate the body and reduce the oxygen levels in the body.
