Itinerary

  • Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll attend an expedition briefing where our expert guides will discuss the climbing plan, safety protocols, and gear preparation. If time permits, you can explore Kathmandu’s UNESCO-listed sites, such as Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, or Kathmandu Durbar Square.

  • Your adventure begins with an exhilarating 30-minute flight to Lukla, a gateway to the Everest region. Upon landing, we begin our trek, passing through picturesque Sherpa villages, lush forests, and the Dudh Koshi River. After an easy hike, we reach Phakding, a small village where we spend the night.

  • Today’s trek takes us through several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, before entering Sagarmatha National Park. The trail gradually ascends through dense pine forests and eventually reaches Namche Bazaar, the vibrant hub of the Everest region. Here, you’ll find markets, bakeries, gear shops, and stunning views of Everest and Ama Dablam.

  • To adjust to the altitude, we take a rest day in Namche. A short hike to Everest View Hotel offers breathtaking panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. You can also visit the Sherpa Museum to learn about the rich culture and mountaineering history of the region.

  • Leaving Namche, we trek through rhododendron forests and reach Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Everest region. After visiting the monastery, we descend through alpine meadows to reach Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village known for its stunning views of Ama Dablam.

  • We leave the main Everest Base Camp trail and ascend toward Ama Dablam Base Camp. The trek offers breathtaking views of the mountain’s steep ridges. Upon arrival, we meet our climbing team and settle into the expedition setup, preparing for the climb ahead.

  • A crucial rest and training day to prepare for the climb. Sherpa guides conduct technical training, teaching the use of ice axes, crampons, fixed ropes, and jumar ascenders. Short hikes around Base Camp to improve acclimatization. Final gear checks before moving up the mountain.

  • The climb from Base Camp to Camp 1 involves steep and rocky terrain, with some exposed sections. Climbers navigate through large boulders and ridges, using fixed ropes for safety. Upon reaching Camp 1, we set up tents on a narrow, rocky ledge. This is a crucial acclimatization point, allowing climbers to adjust to the thin air before pushing higher.

  • Climbers spend time at Camp 1 for further acclimatization. A rotation climb to Camp 2 is done to adapt to the altitude. The route to Camp 2 is the most technical section of the climb, featuring steep rock faces and exposed ridges. After reaching Camp 2, climbers descend back to Camp 1 to sleep, allowing better acclimatization.

  • Climbers move permanently to Camp 2, carrying essential gear and food. The route is highly technical, requiring the use of fixed ropes and jumars. The climb includes steep rock sections, narrow ledges, and the challenging Yellow Tower, a 15-meter vertical rock face. Camp 2 is a small, exposed platform with limited space, making it essential to move efficiently.

  • A rest day at Camp 2 to adjust to the high altitude. Climbers can explore the surrounding area, practice technical skills, and prepare for the final summit push. This day is crucial for ensuring the body is well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

  • The climb to Camp 3 involves mixed terrain, including rock, ice, and snow. This section is relatively short but steep, requiring careful movement. Camp 3 is the last stop before the summit push and is located just below the massive hanging glacier of Ama Dablam. We spend minimal time here due to avalanche risks from the overhanging ice seracs.

  • The final ascent to the summit is an early morning push, starting before dawn. Climbers navigate steep snow slopes and ice walls, using crampons, ice axes, and fixed ropes. The last section involves a narrow ridge leading directly to the summit of Ama Dablam. After reaching the summit, climbers descend safely back to Base Camp.

  • After celebrating our successful summit, we trek back to Pangboche, enjoying the warm hospitality of the Sherpa community. This day allows us to rest and reflect on the accomplishment.

  • We retrace our steps down the trail, passing through Tengboche Monastery once again. The descent is easier as we return to Namche Bazaar, where you can enjoy fresh meals, hot showers, and a comfortable stay.

  • On our final trekking day, we descend through forests and cross several suspension bridges before reaching Lukla. Here, we celebrate the success of our expedition with our Sherpa guides and porters.

  • A scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu marks the end of our adventure in the Himalayas. After arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll have time to explore, shop for souvenirs, or relax. A farewell dinner is organized to celebrate the expedition’s success.

  • After an unforgettable Ama Dablam Expedition, we transfer you to the airport for your onward journey. If you wish to explore more of Nepal, we can arrange additional tours or activities.
