Ghorepani Poon hill trek is the one of the most renowned and picturesque Trekking route in Nepal. It is an easy and short trekking trail too. The views of sunrise and long range of Dhaulagiri Himal and Annapurna Himal is truly magnificent. Ghandruk, another popular village along this trek, features traditional houses and picturesque rice terraces. The local population cultivates seasonal crops, growing rice, corn, and various vegetables during the monsoon, while winter sees the cultivation of wheat, barley, millet, and vegetables such as potatoes, radishes, and beans.

The best time for trekking to Ghorepani Poon hill is in October to December. In this time the weather is pleasantly mild, neither too hot nor too cold. Most of the measure Nepali festivals are celebrated in October to December. All Nepali people they cleaned their houses thoroughly .Marigold flowers are very important for these festivals. They made garlands of flowers and used in festivals. It is considered auspicious. The courtyards of homes are adorned with various types of marigold blooms. You will experience the beauty of trekking. In March and April, the whole forest looks pink in color due to the blooming of Rhododendron flowers. Now day’s trekkers can find comfortable with private bath room at each destination along the trek except one night at Tadapani.

Itinerary


  • One of our office representative will be waiting you at the exit point of airport holding your name on a shine board. Then it is easy to you to recognize a right person who came to pick up you at the exit point. As you completed your visa process the immigration officer will give you visa and show the exit point and you will come out. If you have already got the visa from the embassy of Nepal in your country you have to show it at the visa desk and it is easy. If there is no embassy in your country you can fill out online visa form in your country. It will make you faster to get a arrival visa in airport .As you come out you will see our representative easily and he will keep you in our private car and brought to hotel. The road is about 7 km but due to city area and traffic jam it might take about 20 minutes to come to hotel. As you will arrive to hotel welcome drinks is offered and you have to make check in. Then we will make one hour break. You can go to your room and have rest. After one hour we will meet at the hotel lobby and our representative will explain about your tour and trekking gears and about your trip. If you do not have proper trekking gears he will assist you to buy. He will explain you departure time of Pokhara. During your stay in Kathmandu it is not included your Lunch and Dinner. Our office representative will mention you some names of nice restaurant or you can eat in your hotel where you are staying. They also provide nice food and you have to pay the bills yourself. But the accommodation and breakfast is included in this package. He will explain you dos and don’ts in Nepal

  • Today, you will have the opportunity to rest, and in the afternoon, there will be an introductory program with your guide. The guide will assess whether you possess the necessary equipment for trekking. Additionally, we will gather all insurance documents and the contact numbers of your nearest relatives in case of an emergency. Lunch and dinner is not included. Hotel and Breakfast is included in Package.

  • About 6 hours drive to Pokhara and stay overnight.Pokhara is the most naturally beautiful place in Nepal. It is one of the most charming spots in Nepal and is known as a hub of adventure. This valley, situated 200 km west of Kathmandu, has been the base camp for Nepal’s most popular trekking and rafting destinations. Lake Phewa, Begnas, and Rupa, on the lap of the Himalayas, are the beauties of this valley. Lunch and dinner is not included.

    Kathmandu – Pokhara distance 200 kilometers

     

  • Breakfast will be followed by approximately a one-hour drive along a mountainous road to Nayapul, where the trek will commence. The road to Nayapul is well-maintained and offers scenic views. Nayapul is a significant point for trekkers heading to Annapurna Base Camp or embarking on a short trip to Ghandruk, as many tourists utilize this route. However, since the plan is to proceed to Ghorepani, we will take the left-hand trail. Those aiming for Ghandruk and Annapurna Base Camp will follow the right-hand path. This marks the first day of trekking, characterized by a gradual ascent, making it relatively easy. Along the way, you will encounter traditional houses nestled in the villages that dot the sloped mountains. After approximately four hours of trekking, you will reach Trikhedhunga (1,540m), where you will stay overnight at a hotel. The package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and accommodation.

    Pokhara -Naya pul 40 kilo meters and Naya pul – Trikhedhunga 10 Km

  • Following breakfast, the trek to Ghorepani (2,835m) will take around six hours. The initial three hours of the trek will be particularly challenging due to the steep ascent at Ulleri, a well-known section of the trail. You will need to navigate this steep path for the entire duration. Upon reaching Banthati, there will be a one-hour lunch break, during which you can enjoy your first view of Annapurna South. After lunch, the trek continues for another three hours to Ghorepani, where the trail gradually ascends. Ghorepani serves as a crucial junction in the Annapurna region, where trekkers from the Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, and Nayapul converge. Historically, this area lacked hotels and tea houses, and it was a place where horses were watered, leading to the name Ghorepani, derived from “ghore” meaning horse and “pani” meaning water. You will stay overnight at a hotel in Ghorepani, with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and accommodation included in your package.

    Trikhedhunga – Ghorepani 13 km

  • Today marks the beginning of an adventurous journey. A trek of approximately 40 minutes will lead you to Poon Hill, situated at an elevation of 3,200 meters. The path is lined with rhododendron trees, providing a scenic ascent. All tourists and guides will be equipped with either a torch or a headlamp to navigate the trail. Should you reach the summit before sunrise, you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the dawn. A stay of about 30 minutes is recommended at the top. In the morning, local vendors will offer tea and coffee to tourists, enhancing the experience at Poon Hill. After taking in the breathtaking views of the sunrise and the Himalayas, you will trek back to your hotel for breakfast. Following breakfast, you will proceed to Tadapani, which will require several hours of trekking. The trail today features numerous ascents and descents, with a lunch break scheduled along the way. The package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and accommodation.

    Ghorepani- Tadapani 10 km

  • Breakfast-about 6 hrs trek to Naya pool via Ghandruk and about 1 hour drive back to Pokhara. Breakfast, Lunch,  and accommodation is included in package.

  • Drive back to Kathmandu-drop off at the hotel. Farewell dinner with Nepali cultural program. Breakfast,  and accommodation is included in package.

  • Breakfast will be provided, during which one of the office representatives will arrive at the hotel with a private coach to facilitate your transfer to the airport. Prior to your departure from the hotel, the representative will present each guest with a “Kahada,” a Buddhist scarf symbolizing good fortune for your journey to the next destination. Following this, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home.

Important Information Before Your Trip to Nepal

Payment:  Down payment: 15% of total payment  is required to confirm the reservation.

Payment of the Balance: Rest amount can be paid in our office after your arrival.

Arrival Point: You will be met at the Kathmandu international airport. Our office representative will be waiting for you holding play card of the Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition. In case of your change plan, please let us inform.

Booking  Air Ticket:  If you don’t have regular travel agent, please visit    makemytrip.com, www.kayak.com, www.vayama.com. They  offer you very good price.

Room System: Normally we have two people in a room. Twin bed or single bed depends on the choice of guests and budget. If tourists want single room, s/he should pay single supplementary.

Trekking Leading Person:  Our trekking guide will lead the whole trip with his/her helpers and porters.

Currencies:  USD, AUD, EURO are major acceptable currencies in Nepal and visa and credit cards also accepted. There is ATM facility in city area.

Altitude Sickness: Altitude sickness will start from 3000 meter height. Trekkers should immediately inform trekking guide if faced any problems.

Drinking Water:  We can get mineral water and boiled water in city area and in some trekking places. We use water purification tablet or liquid in some remote trekking sites.

Laundry Facility: Laundry facility are available in city area but not during the trekking.

Visa: You can get arrival visa at Kathmandu airport that cost 30 USD  for  15 days and 50 USD for 30 days. Please bring 2 passport size photos. You can get your visa from the closest Nepali embassy.

Orientation Program: Before starting trekking, trekkers are provided with an  orientation by our office representative or trekking guide about the necessary trekking information.

Group Size: There will be maximum 12 persons in one group.

Accommodation: You will stay in a nice tourist standard hotel/resort in city areas.  Normal hotels or tents are available during the trekking.

Foods: We provide breakfast, lunch, dinner. Tourists can get continental food both in city and trekking places. Food during the trekking might not meet the standard of your country.

View of Mount Everest: Trekkers to Everest region  will of course see the Mount Everest. For trekkers visiting other regions where they cannot view Mount Everest, there are daily mountain flights which approach close to Mount Everest.

Travel Insurance:  It is compulsory to have travel insurance.

Personal Expenses:  It depends on your spending interest and shopping. There are some expensive handmade carpets, Thanka paintings, jewelries and handicrafts to purchase in Nepal.

Luggage: We take only about 10kg per person in trekking. Your excess baggage will be stored in a hotel.

Tips: Tips are highly accepted and appreciated.

Rules and Regulation

Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition accepts your reservation under the following rules and regulations.

1. If the balance payment is not paid before your departure for trekking, the booking will be cancelled without any refund.

2. If there is war or the situation of the country is out of control and the country faces emergency situation before your arrival to Nepal, we inform you not to come Nepal and refund your payment. But in case of any emergency situation or war after your arrival or during the trekking, we will not refund your money. But we will try our best to make your trip successful and pleasant. In such situation, we may need to change the trip plan and itinerary.

3. In case of increase in government royalty and other costs such as the national park fee, you have to pay extra money.

4. If you commit any illegal act or disturbance for the safety and welfare of the group, our leader or guide can ask to leave the group without any right to refund.

5. If you have any complain with regards to trekking and tour please inform our tour leader or company. All kinds of valid complain are welcomed and processed with necessary actions.

6.You are responsible to ensure that all travel documents  are with you during the entire trip.
