Overview
Jumla to Dunai Trek – 13 Days in Remote Western Nepal
Discover the Hidden Beauty, Local Culture, and Authentic Lifestyle of Nepal
The Jumla to Dunai Trek is an off-the-beaten-path trekking adventure in the remote western region of Nepal. This less-touristy route takes you through beautiful valleys, traditional villages, peaceful landscapes, and rural settlements where you can experience authentic Nepali life away from the busy trekking trails.
Starting from Jumla, famous for its apple orchards and walnut trees, the trek follows scenic trails through Gutthichaur, Nauligoth, Kaigaon, and Liku before reaching Dunai, the administrative headquarters of Dolpa District.
This trek is ideal for travelers who want to explore a less-developed part of Nepal, meet local people, discover traditional village life, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Himalayan foothills.
Because the trek takes place around the beginning of the monsoon season, we recommend flying from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then to Jumla. This helps reduce the risk of delays associated with long overland journeys and possible landslides. Weather conditions can still affect flights and trekking routes.
