Upper Mustang 8 Days Trek
Upper Mustang 8 Days Trek and Jeep Tour
Upper Mustang 8 Days Trek and Jeep Tour is a short and convenient way to explore the remote, culturally rich, and spectacular landscapes of Upper Mustang, Nepal. This package combines Jeep transportation with walking and short hikes, allowing you to visit important monasteries, traditional villages, ancient caves, viewpoints, and cultural sites without spending many days walking long distances.
The journey takes you through the spectacular Kali Gandaki Valley to Jomsom and then by Jeep toward Lo-Manthang, the historic walled city and cultural center of Upper Mustang. Since road access now reaches Lo-Manthang, travelers can experience the region in a shorter period while still having time to explore the most important places on foot.
The Jeep journey is an important part of the experience. You will travel through the dramatic Trans-Himalayan landscape, passing deep valleys, colorful rock formations, traditional villages, ancient monasteries, and dry, desert-like scenery. At important sightseeing locations, you will leave the Jeep and walk around to explore the area more closely.
A highlight of the trip is Lo-Manthang, where you can explore the historic walled settlement, monasteries, traditional houses, and surrounding cultural sites. You will also visit the Chhoser area, known for its remarkable caves, villages, and ancient cultural heritage.
The landscape changes dramatically during the journey—from the greener valleys around Pokhara and Lower Mustang to the dry, high-altitude terrain of Upper Mustang. This makes the trip a combination of scenic road travel, cultural exploration, short walks, and Himalayan adventure.
This 8-day package is particularly suitable for travelers who want to experience the landscape, culture, monasteries, caves, villages, and historic settlements of Upper Mustang but prefer to reduce the amount of long-distance trekking by using Jeep transportation.

Upper Mustang 8 Days Jeep Tour – Detailed Itinerary
This 8-day Upper Mustang Jeep Tour is designed for travelers who want to experience the spectacular landscapes, ancient monasteries, traditional villages, Buddhist culture, caves, and historic walled city of Lo-Manthang without doing a long trekking itinerary.
The entire journey is by road and Jeep, with a comfortable tourist bus used between Kathmandu and Pokhara. The route follows the famous Kali Gandaki Valley and continues into the remote, dry landscape of Upper Mustang.
Although the direct drive from Jomsom to Lo-Manthang can be completed in around 4–6 hours depending on road conditions, we have planned approximately 9 hours on Day 4 because we do not simply drive directly to Lo-Manthang.
