SUPPORT
Seasons to Visit Island Peak
Spring (March to May):Spring is very popular for climbing Island Peak. The weather is pretty stable and, therefore, the temperature is bearable to climb with some comfort. The trail takes on extra beauty with blooming rhododendrons and other flowers. Clear mornings offer spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and the surrounding peaks, although some clouds are common in the afternoon.
Autumn (September to November):Autumn is considered the best season for climbing Island Peak. The trail conditions favor climbers, with typically clear skies giving uninterrupted views of the mountains. Temperatures are cool but bearable. Dry trails ensure safe climbing conditions. This season also coincides with great festivals like Dashain and Tihar, giving trekkers a special glimpse of Nepalese culture.
Winter (December to February):Winter season is cold and snowy, but it can still be a good season for solitude seekers and adventurers. The weather is usually clear, but it remains excessively cold at really high altitudes and needs the utmost preparations with some really good gear. The climbing conditions may be more difficult for this reason and therefore fit for experienced climbers.
Monsoon/Summer (June to August)
Due to heavy rains, slippery trails, and a danger of landslides, it is the worst season for climbing on Island Peak. Yet, it is undoubtedly the best time for the rest of us to enjoy the lush greenery, few crowds, and splendid mountain landscapes after rains. Climbers should prepare for unpredictable weather.
