Nepal overland tour is one of the best ways to explore the Nepali culture, tradition, religion, bio-diversity, and people. Tourists visit the main old temples, monasteries, stupas, and Durbar Squares (Royal Palaces) in and around the Kathmandu Valley. Some naturally beautiful tourist places are included in the overland tour package. In addition, this tour presents the traditional cities in the Kathmandu Valley. These are Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, and Kathmandu cities that are mostly inhabited by the Newar indigenous people.

Day 1 :
Pick up from the airport and drop off at the hotel by our office representative with a private coach
One of our office representatives will be waiting for you at the airport exit with a private vehicle. He will be holding a signboard displaying your name, making it easy for you to identify him. You will simply place your luggage in the car and proceed to your hotel. The journey from the international airport to your hotel takes approximately 20 minutes, despite being only 5 kilometers away, due to frequent heavy traffic. Upon your arrival at the hotel, you will be greeted with welcome drinks and asked to complete the registration form. Afterward, you will receive your room key and check into your accommodations. After about an hour, you will return to the lobby where your tour expert will provide an overview of your trip in Nepal. He will outline important dos and don’ts while in the country and recommend several excellent restaurants for lunch and dinner. Please note that meals are not included during your stay in Kathmandu. If you need assistance purchasing any medications or personal items, he will be available to help you.

Day 2 :
Kathmandu Tour and Mountain Flight
Travel to the domestic airport for a one-hour mountain flight, offering breathtaking views of numerous snow-capped mountains, including the majestic Mount Everest. Afterward, return to the hotel for breakfast.
– Proceed to Jamal, a mere five-minute walk from the hotel, to admire the 17th-century pond known as Rani Pokhari (Queen’s Pond).
– Visit the 15th-century Kathe Swyambhunath Stupa.
– Explore the Nardevi Temple and the Deshaya Marujhya, also referred to as the “country nowhere window.”
– Tour Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you can see ancient temples, the royal palace, and the living goddess Kumari at Kumari House. Marvel at the impressive image of the god Bhairab, the 16th-century Jagannath Temple adorned with erotic art, and Taleju Bhawani, the tallest temple in the Kathmandu valley, which opens only once a year during the major festival ‘Dashain’ in October.
– Visit the Sankata Mandir (Temple) near the new road gate, as well as Mahankal Mandir (Temple).
– Walk through the bustling Asan street to reach Annapurna Temple, dedicated to the goddess of food.
– Discover Seto Machhendranath, ‘Bangemudha,’ and the ‘Toothache log,’ where it is believed that nailing a coin to the log can alleviate toothache.Finally, drive to Swyambhunath, a renowned Buddhist stupa situated atop a hill, both of which are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Return to the hotel afterward.

Day 3 :
Pashupatinath Temple and Stupa Visit
Breakfast will be followed by a visit to the Pashupatinath Hindu Temple, one of the most significant temples for Hindus worldwide. Lord Pashupatinath is regarded as an incarnation of the supreme Hindu deity, Shiva. The term “Pashupati” translates to “lord of all living beings,” indicating that Pashupatinath is revered as the supreme god for all creatures. During major festivals, the temple attracts over two hundred thousand pilgrims in a single day. Adjacent to Pashupatinath flows the Bagmati River, considered one of the holiest rivers, where visitors often bathe.
Along the banks of this river, numerous cremation platforms are present, where many Hindus choose to cremate their deceased. It is a widely held belief among Hindus that cremation at the feet of Lord Shiva grants them passage to heaven.
Following this, there will be a drive to Sankhu, a quaint Newari town, where a brief walk will lead to the Bajra Jogini Temple, dedicated to the tantric goddess. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Bouddhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in South Asia and a significant Buddhist monument. Surrounding the stupa are several important Buddhist monasteries, including the Shakyapa Monastery and the Shechen Monastery, both of which are worthy of exploration. The Bouddhanath Stupa is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4 :
Bhaktapur Visit and Drive to Sarangakot, Pokhara
Breakfast will be followed by a drive to Bhaktapur, a city renowned for its rich traditions and cultural heritage within the Kathmandu Valley. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which houses the Royal Palace, along with the remarkable temples that define this city, known as the City of Devotees. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur features significant attractions such as Pottery Square, Nyatpola Temple, and the Dattatraya Temple.
Among the three major cities in the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur stands out as the most traditional, located just 15 kilometers from Kathmandu. The majority of Bhaktapur’s residents are engaged in agriculture, cultivating various food grains and vegetables. It is noteworthy that some individuals, even at the age of 80, have never ventured to Kathmandu, highlighting the enduring traditional lifestyle of the Bhaktapur community.
Historically, prior to the 15th century, Bhaktapur served as the ruling center of the entire Kathmandu Valley. During the 15th century, a king in Bhaktapur established three kingdoms for the convenience of his three sons, leading to the formation of Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, and Patan. This division resulted in ongoing competition and conflict among the kingdoms, ultimately weakening them and leading to their loss of power to the Shah dynasty in the 17th century.
Following this, one may choose to drive or fly to Pokhara, a prominent tourist destination in Nepal, celebrated for its stunning natural beauty. Pokhara is characterized by its picturesque lakes, waterfalls, gorges, caves, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

Day 5 :
Pokhara City Tour
In the morning, embark on a 25-minute drive to Sarangkot Hill to witness the sunrise and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Sarangkot is renowned as one of the most picturesque locations in Pokhara for observing the snow-capped mountains and the sunrise. On a clear day, one can see the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range, Fishtail, and Manaslu, all of which rise above 8,000 meters. Simultaneously, the stunning Phewa Lake and Pokhara Valley can be admired.
After returning to the hotel for breakfast, make a stop at Bindhyabasini Temple along the way. This temple is one of the most significant religious sites in Pokhara, associated with Hinduism. Bindhyabasini is an incarnation of Goddess Durga, who symbolizes power in Hindu belief. She is revered as a formidable goddess who accepts sacrifices during major festivals.
The day will be dedicated to sightseeing in Pokhara City.
Begin with boating on Phewa Lake, a major attraction in Pokhara, which is often referred to as the Valley of Lakes. Phewa Lake covers an area of 5.7 square kilometers.
Next, visit Devi’s Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Pokhara, which cascades from the dam of Phewa Lake. On July 31, 1961, a Swiss couple was bathing near the falls when the woman tragically drowned in a pit and was lost. Her body was discovered three days later, and the falls were subsequently named after her, although its original Nepali name is Patale Chhango.
Proceed to the Tibetan Refugee Camp, another notable attraction in Pokhara. Following the invasion of Tibet by the Chinese Red Army in 1960, many Tibetans fled their homeland for safety. Some sought refuge in Dharamsala, India, while others came to Nepal. In 1962, the International Red Cross established a refugee camp near Devi’s Falls. The Tibetan community is known for their craftsmanship in handmade carpets and souvenirs, and they continue to sustain their livelihoods through these businesses.
Explore the Mountain Museum: The Mountain Museum in Pokhara is yet another captivating destination in the area. It showcases the history of climbing in Nepal and features the essential equipment required for mountain ascents.
Finally, visit the Peace Stupa, a relatively new structure situated atop a hill.

Day 6 :
Chitwan National Park Tour
You will begin your day with your final cup of tea or coffee alongside breakfast before departing for Chitwan National Park, renowned for its one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tiger. Regular flights are available from Pokhara to Chitwan, taking approximately 20 minutes, or you may opt for a five-hour drive.
Upon your arrival at the hotel in Chitwan National Park, lunch will be provided. Following lunch, you will have some time to rest. In the late afternoon, you will embark on a tour of a Tharu village. The Tharu people are the indigenous inhabitants of Chitwan, having settled in the region around the 14th century. Prior to the 19th century, the area was largely uninhabitable for anyone other than the Tharu due to malaria. Once malaria was controlled, many individuals migrated from the mountainous regions to the lowlands of Nepal, including Chitwan. During this time, you will also visit the elephant stable. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a sunset view at the edge of the Rapti River while sipping tea or coffee.

Full-day activities in Chitwan National Park
Full-day activities in Chitwan National Park offer an exhilarating adventure experience.
Jungle Walk: The jungle walk is a captivating adventure activity in Chitwan, providing opportunities to encounter wildlife such as the Royal Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, bears, deer, bison, and various other species. This excursion lasts approximately three hours and takes you deep into the heart of the jungle.
Jeep Safari in the National Park: Another thrilling adventure in Chitwan National Park is the jeep safari. This option allows for an extensive exploration of the wilderness, covering 35 kilometers into the jungle and including a visit to the crocodile breeding center.
Elephant Ride: The elephant ride is a remarkable way to discover the diverse flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park. This experience typically lasts around two hours.
Canoeing: Canoeing is an additional highlight in Chitwan National Park, taking place on the Rapti River for about 30 minutes. During this activity, participants can observe aquatic wildlife such as crocodiles, fish, and various migratory and local birds.
Visit to the Elephant Breeding Center: The elephant breeding center plays a crucial role in increasing the elephant population. Visitors can observe numerous elephants, including calves, and may even witness mating behaviors.

Room Arrangement: Normally we keep two people in a room if they are friends or family members. Single, twin, or family accommodation will depend on your preference. The solo tourist will have to pay a single supplementary.

First Aid Kit: We send some basic medicine to the tour. If you have been taking regular medicine, please bring them with you as the quality and brand of your medicine may not be the same if you buy in Nepal.
Travel Insurance: Tourists must have travel insurance. You can email us the insurance documents or give us the printed copies when you arrive.
Luggage: We suggest you limit the belongings. Your remaining luggage will be stored in Kathmandu.
View of Mountains: You will of course see mountains from Pokhara on a clear day. We suggest taking a mountain flight that approaches close to Mt. Everest if you want to see many mountains and the Everest.
Personal Expenses: You will need money for different activities that are not included in the tour package like Disco, Casino, and shop handmade carpets, Thanka paintings, jewelry, and handcrafts.
TIPS: Tipping is not mandatory, but it has been one of the attractions to make the guides and porters continue to be involved in tourism. TIPS are appreciated and dignified.
Rules and Regulations
Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition accepts your reservation under the following rules and regulations.
If the balance payment is not paid before you depart for the tour, the booking will be canceled without a refund.
If there is war or the situation of the country is out of control and the country faces an emergency before your arrival to Nepal, we inform you not to come to Nepal and refund your payment. However, in case of an emergency or war after your arrival or during the tour, we will not refund your money. Nevertheless, we will try our best to make your trip successful and pleasant. In such a situation, we may need to change the trip plan and itinerary.
If government royalty and other costs such as the national park fee increase after you book the trek, you will pay the increased costs.
If you commit any illegal act or disturbance for the safety and welfare of the group, our leader or guide can ask you to leave the group without any right to refund.
You are responsible for ensuring that all travel documents are with you during the trek.
