Itinerary


  • Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal’s bustling capital, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, you can take a leisurely walk around the vibrant Thamel area or relax in preparation for the trek ahead. The evening will be spent attending a brief orientation session, where you’ll meet your trekking crew and receive important information regarding the trek.

     

  • Early morning, take a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, a city located in the western plains of Nepal. Nepalgunj serves as the entry point for your journey into the remote Karnali region. After arriving in Nepalgunj, you’ll spend the night here before heading further into the mountains. The city offers a unique cultural mix of Hindu and Muslim influences, which you can explore during your stay.

  • From Nepalgunj, you’ll board another short flight to Jumla, the gateway to your trek. Jumla is a small, remote town in the Karnali region, nestled at 2,500 meters above sea level. This is where your trek officially begins. After arriving, you will have some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. The day ends with a night spent in a local lodge or tented camp.

  • Your first day of trekking will take you from Jumla to Gothijyula. The route traverses through terraced fields, picturesque villages, and scenic forests. The trek will introduce you to the quiet, remote nature of the region, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. The day’s trek is relatively easy to help you adjust to the altitude.

  • An optional detour to Rara Lake is one of the highlights of this trek. On this day, you will trek towards Rara Lake, a stunning glacial lake that stretches over 10 square kilometers. The lake is the largest in Nepal and its deep blue waters, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and lush forests, make for an unforgettable experience. You will spend the night near the lake, taking in its serene beauty.

  • Today, take a break from trekking and spend the day exploring Rara Lake. You can go for a peaceful walk around the lake, visit the surrounding villages, and interact with the locals. The area is known for its tranquil atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and soak in the natural surroundings.

  • From Rara Lake, you’ll head to Bhara, a small settlement located at the edge of the Rara National Park. The trek takes you through pristine forests, offering glimpses of local wildlife and flora. Bhara is a quiet place, providing an excellent spot for an overnight stay before continuing your trek.

  • The trek from Bhara to Kolti will take you along narrow mountain paths, offering impressive views of the surrounding valleys and forests. Kolti is a small village known for its traditional stone houses and beautiful scenery. As the trek progresses, you’ll notice the increasing remoteness of the area, making it a true wilderness adventure.

     

  • On this day, you will reach the high-altitude village of Chaurikot. The trek follows the Sinja Valley, a historic and culturally rich region. The valley is known for its ancient monasteries and traditional villages. Chaurikot offers panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks and will be a memorable stop on your trek.

  • Today, you will cross the Mauria Lagna Pass, a challenging yet rewarding high-altitude pass at 4,110 meters. The trail leads through rugged terrain, alpine meadows, and rocky ridges. After crossing the pass, you will descend to Pina, where you will camp for the night, surrounded by breathtaking views of the mountains.

     

  • The trek to Chharka Bhot will take you through remote villages and rugged terrain. At an altitude of over 4,100 meters, Chharka Bhot is an isolated village with Tibetan influences. The region is known for its Buddhist monasteries, prayer flags, and yak caravans. It’s an excellent place to immerse yourself in the local culture.

     

  • From Chharka Bhot, you’ll continue your journey to Sangda Phedi, descending through alpine meadows and rocky paths. You’ll pass through traditional Tibetan-style villages, where you can experience the unique way of life of the local people. Sangda Phedi is a peaceful spot to camp for the night.

  • Today’s trek takes you to Sangda Village, a high-altitude settlement surrounded by beautiful landscapes. This village is known for its traditional stone houses and stunning views of the Himalayas. It’s a great place to experience the nomadic lifestyle of the locals.

  • The trek from Sangda Village to Yak Kharka takes you through alpine pastures where yaks graze freely. As you ascend further into the mountains, the views of the surrounding peaks grow more dramatic. Yak Kharka is a peaceful, high-altitude camp site offering panoramic views of the surrounding ranges.

  • The descent from Yak Kharka to Marpha will take you through traditional villages and terraced fields.   • The final leg of the trek will take you from Tatopani to Beni, a bustling town at the foot of the mountains. This is where your trekking journey ends. From Beni, you can take a vehicle to Pokhara or return to Kathmandu.

     

  • From Beni, take a drive or flight to Pokhara, a popular tourist hub, or head back to Kathmandu for your onward journey. Spend the day relaxing or exploring the city.

     

  • A buffer day in Kathmandu allows time for rest, shopping, or sightseeing. You can explore key attractions like the Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, or the historic Durbar Square.

  • On your final day, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable Jumla to Beni Tented Trek.

Important Information Before Your Trip to Nepal

Payment:  Down payment: 15% of total payment  is required to confirm the reservation.

Payment of the Balance: Rest amount can be paid in our office after your arrival.

Arrival Point: You will be met at the Kathmandu international airport. Our office representative will be waiting for you holding play card of the Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition. In case of your change plan, please let us inform.

Booking  Air Ticket:  If you don’t have regular travel agent, please visit    makemytrip.com, www.kayak.com, www.vayama.com. They  offer you very good price.

Room System: Normally we have two people in a room. Twin bed or single bed depends on the choice of guests and budget. If tourists want single room, s/he should pay single supplementary.

Trekking Leading Person:  Our trekking guide will lead the whole trip with his/her helpers and porters.

Currencies:  USD, AUD, EURO are major acceptable currencies in Nepal and visa and credit cards also accepted. There is ATM facility in city area.

Altitude Sickness: Altitude sickness will start from 3000 meter height. Trekkers should immediately inform trekking guide if faced any problems.

Drinking Water:  We can get mineral water and boiled water in city area and in some trekking places. We use water purification tablet or liquid in some remote trekking sites.

Laundry Facility: Laundry facility are available in city area but not during the trekking.

Visa: You can get arrival visa at Kathmandu airport that cost 25 USD  for  15 days and 40 USD for 30 days. Please bring 2 passport size photos. You can get your visa from the closest Nepali embassy.

Orientation Program: Before starting trekking, trekkers are provided with an  orientation by our office representative or trekking guide about the necessary trekking information.

Group Size: There will be maximum 12 persons in one group.

Accommodation: You will stay in a nice tourist standard hotel/resort in city areas.  Normal hotels or tents are available during the trekking.

Foods: We provide breakfast, lunch, dinner. Tourists can get continental food both in city and trekking places. Food during the trekking might not meet the standard of your country.

View of Mount Everest: Trekkers to Everest region  will of course see the Mount Everest. For trekkers visiting other regions where they cannot view Mount Everest, there are daily mountain flights which approach close to Mount Everest.

Travel Insurance:  It is compulsory to have travel insurance.

Personal Expenses:  It depends on your spending interest and shopping. There are some expensive handmade carpets, Thanka paintings, jewelries and handicrafts to purchase in Nepal.

Luggage: We take only about 10kg per person in trekking. Your excess baggage will be stored in a hotel.

Tips: Tips are highly accepted and appreciated.

Rules and Regulation

Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition accepts your reservation under the following rules and regulations.

1. If the balance payment is not paid before your departure for trekking, the booking will be cancelled without any refund.

2. If there is war or the situation of the country is out of control and the country faces emergency situation before your arrival to Nepal, we inform you not to come Nepal and refund your payment. But in case of any emergency situation or war after your arrival or during the trekking, we will not refund your money. But we will try our best to make your trip successful and pleasant. In such situation, we may need to change the trip plan and itinerary.

3. In case of increase in government royalty and other costs such as the national park fee, you have to pay extra money.

4. If you commit any illegal act or disturbance for the safety and welfare of the group, our leader or guide can ask to leave the group without any right to refund.

5. If you have any complain with regards to trekking and tour please inform our tour leader or company. All kinds of valid complain are welcomed and processed with necessary actions.

6.You are responsible to ensure that all travel documents  are with you during the entire trip.
