SUPPORT
Best Season to Gosainkunda Trek
Spring (March to May):
Spring is also a very good season for the 10 Days Gosainkunda Trek, with pleasant and fine weather and views around. The temperature will differ from 10°C to 20°C at lower altitudes. It is a bit cool at higher altitudes. There are ideal trekking conditions regarding the temperature. These routes are colorful with bloomed rhododendrons and greenery everywhere, which are a treat to watch while stepping every inch. Excellent views of the ranges of Langtang and Ganesh Himal can be seen in clear skies, which will add more value to your experience. Spring is also a peak season for trekkers, so expect to have an exciting atmosphere on the trails and in the teahouses.
Autumn (September to November)
The Autumn season is also considered one of the prime seasons to head for the 10 Days Gosainkunda Trek as during this time, it receives stable weather conditions, crystal-clear skies, and crisp air. During daytime, the temperature remains favorable at 10°C-15°C, while nights might be cold at higher elevations. Post-monsoon clarity ensures breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, serene landscapes, and sacred Gosainkunda Lake. This season coincides with major Nepali festivals like Dashain and Tihar, allowing trekkers to witness vibrant cultural celebrations. The dry trails and excellent visibility make autumn a favorite time for trekkers seeking a perfect mix of adventure and cultural immersion.
Winter (December to February)
Winter is a challenging yet rewarding option for the 10 Days Gosainkunda Trek, with temperatures often below freezing at higher altitudes. The snow-covered landscapes and tranquil trails provide a unique and serene trekking experience, far from the usual crowds. However, trekking during this season requires proper gear and preparation to handle the cold and potential snow, especially at Gosainkunda Lake and Laurebinayak Pass. While the views of the mountains can often be stunningly clear, teahouses at higher altitudes might be closed down due to extreme weather conditions, hence making logistics a bit more complicated.
Monsoon (June to August)
The monsoon time of the year, however, is the most unfavorable season for the 10 Days Gosainkunda Trek because of the heavy rainfall that makes the trek difficult; the trails get muddy, slippery, and leechy. This is the most favorable season for those people who prefer quiet trails as the path is less busy, and the landscapes wear a very lush and fresh look. Rain-washed skies and greenery add their charm, though there is a possibility that views of the mountains could be substantially obscured by cloud cover. Extra care on the trails and proper rain gear is crucial if you choose to go trekking during this season.
