The Ghorepani Poon Hill Daily Sightseeing Tour is a 2-day tour from Pokhara and a 3-day tour from Kathmandu, designed for travelers who want to experience the famous Poon Hill sunrise without undertaking a long trekking itinerary. The journey is mainly by private Jeep, so you do not need to complete the traditional multi-day trek to reach Ghorepani.
Poon Hill, at an elevation of 3,210 meters, is one of the most scenic mountain viewpoints in Nepal. From the viewpoint, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges, including Nilgiri Himal and many other snow-capped peaks. The viewpoint also provides impressive views toward the Kali Gandaki Gorge and surrounding valleys and hills.
The journey from Pokhara is an attraction in itself. As we travel toward Ghorepani, you will follow sections of the Kali Gandaki River, pass through traditional mountain villages, and see the orange orchards of Shikha and Ghara villages. The route provides an opportunity to observe rural landscapes and everyday life in the Himalayan foothills.
Depending on your itinerary and interest, you can also visit the natural hot springs at Tatopani. If you would like to experience the hot spring, we can include time for a relaxing bath in the naturally heated water. This can be a pleasant addition to the sightseeing journey, particularly after traveling through the mountain region.
After driving to Ghorepani, you will stay overnight in this beautiful mountain village. Early the following morning, you will walk for approximately 40 minutes from Ghorepani to Poon Hill to reach the viewpoint before sunrise. You will have time to enjoy the changing colors of the mountains as the first sunlight reaches the peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
At Poon Hill, you can spend approximately one hour enjoying the Himalayan scenery, taking photographs, and having tea or coffee while overlooking the surrounding mountains and valleys. You can also see the dramatic Kali Gandaki landscape and the villages spread across the hills below.
After enjoying the sunrise, you will walk back to Ghorepani for breakfast. We provide a fresh trekking-style breakfast, giving you an opportunity to enjoy a meal in the mountain environment and experience the atmosphere of a traditional trekking settlement. You will then have free time to relax and explore Ghorepani before beginning the return journey.
At approximately 2:00 PM, we drive back to Pokhara by Jeep. The 2-day tour from Pokhara ends with an overnight stay in Pokhara. For travelers starting from Kathmandu, the 3-day itinerary includes the necessary travel time between Kathmandu and the Annapurna region.

Your Poon Hill sightseeing adventure begins at 2:00 PM from Pokhara. We drive by private Jeep toward Ghorepani, following a scenic mountain road through the hills, forests, and traditional villages of the Annapurna region.
The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours, depending on road and weather conditions. We expect to reach Ghorepani at around 6:00–7:00 PM.
After arriving in Ghorepani, check in at your lodge or hotel and enjoy the evening in this beautiful Himalayan mountain village.

Day 2: Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Ghorepani – Pokhara
Early Morning: Ghorepani to Poon Hill
Start from Ghorepani: Approximately 5:00 AM
Wake up early and begin the approximately 40-minute walk from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3,210 m).
The trail gradually climbs through the forest, with some steeper sections. As you will be walking before sunrise, it can be dark along parts of the trail, so you should carry a headlamp or flashlight.
Early mornings can also be cold, particularly in winter. Warm clothing, a down jacket, gloves, and a hat are recommended.
Sunrise and Himalayan Views from Poon Hill
Arrive at Poon Hill before sunrise and find a good viewpoint to watch the first rays of sunlight illuminate the Himalayan peaks.
From Poon Hill, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Nilgiri Himal, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and other surrounding snow-capped mountains.
You can also see the surrounding valleys and the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge from the viewpoint.
Spend approximately one hour at Poon Hill, enjoying the sunrise, taking photographs, and having tea or coffee while admiring the Himalayan scenery.
Return to Ghorepani and Breakfast
After enjoying the sunrise, walk back to Ghorepani, which takes approximately 40 minutes.
Enjoy breakfast at a local lodge or teahouse. You can experience traditional Nepali food while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Ghorepani.
Free Time in Ghorepani
After breakfast, you will have free time to relax and explore Ghorepani until the afternoon. You can walk around the village, enjoy the mountain scenery, meet local people, or relax at your lodge.
Ghorepani to Pokhara

At around 2:00 PM, we drive back to Pokhara by private Jeep. Enjoy the scenic mountain landscape as we descend from the Annapurna region.
You will arrive in Pokhara in the evening, where the sightseeing tour ends.

At around 1:00 PM, we leave Ghorepani by private Jeep and begin the journey back to Kathmandu.
The drive from Ghorepani to Kathmandu takes approximately 8–10 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.
Enjoy the changing landscapes as we travel from the Himalayan mountain region toward Kathmandu.
