The government of Nepal decreased mountaineering royalty to be put into effect from 1st January, 2015. The new royalty for foreigners is:   

Mount Everest (southeast ridge)-normal route

  • Spring: 11,000 USD
  • Autumn: 5,500 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 2,750 USD

Mount Everest  

  • Spring: 10,000 USD
  • Autumn: 5,000 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 2,500

Mountains above 8000m

  • Spring: 1,800 USD
  • Autumn: 900 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 450 USD

Mountains  at the height of 7,501m to 7999m

  • Spring: 600 USD
  • Autumn: 300 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 150 USD

Mountains at the height of 7000m to 7500m

  • Spring: 500 USD
  • Autumn: 250 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 125 USD

Mountains at the height of 6501m-6,999m

  • Spring:  400 USD
  • Autumn: 200 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 100 USD

Mountains  at the height of 6,500m or below

  • Spring:  250 USD
  • Autumn: 125 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 70  USD

  • Spring: 400 USD
  • Autumn: 400 USD
  • Summer/monsoon: 200 USD
