Langtang Trekking – Discover the Hidden Gem of the Himalayas

Langtang trekking is introduced as the most popular trekking destination with beautiful places in Nepal. The narrow Langtang Valley is close to the border of Tibet, located on the lap of the Langtang Himal, north of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The best itinerary for the Langtang trek is 12 days. We are offering a heavy discount on Langtang trekking. The cost of Langtang trekking is only USD 432.00 per person. But we need a minimum of 2 people. For the single supplement, it is 200.00 USD. In the Langtang trek, you will trek to 3800 meters, or 12350 feet. In general, there is no risk of high-altitude sickness. But the trek is wonderful.

The highest peak, Langtang Lirung (7,246m), overlooks the area of the Langtang Valley. “Langtang” originated from two distinct words; “Lang” means “yak” and “Tang” means to follow. The Langtang trek to the base of Langtang Himal provides the shortest approach to the snow-white mountains from Kathmandu.

Starting from Syabru Besi, we travel through some small beautiful peaks, lush green forests, and the vast Kyangin Valley, bordered by stunning snow peaks. On the way towards the base of Langtang Himal, the glaciers comfortably occurring at a relatively low altitude are extraordinary, and while trekking through them, the excitement level goes to the next level. The Kyanjin (3,800m) provides you with an opportunity to climb Kyangjin Ri (4,350m), from where the 360-degree view of the mountain is so fantastic.

Among others, the sacred Gosaikund Lake is one of the key attractions of this trek. During a full moon festival in August, thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims came from several places to visit the lake. Langtang National Park is Nepal’s first Himalayan national park, established in 1976. Different kinds of endangered species are found in the Langtang National Park  such as pandas, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Thar (wild goat) and so on, which are now under protection.

To explore the Langtang valley is an opportunity to study the culture of the Tamang indigenous people and their community. The Langtang trekking can be done at any time except in July and August, which is the monsoon season in Nepal. However, the best time to visit Langtang is spring and autumn.

Best Time to Visit Langtang trekking

Spring (March to May)

Spring is considered one of the peak seasons to trek in Langtang Valley. The weather is usually mild during this season, with temperatures at lower altitudes ranging from 10°C to 20°C and cooler at higher elevations. The rhododendron forests have covered the trekking trails, making it colourful everywhere. This is also an excellent time to see various flowers bloom, creating a scenic and pleasant atmosphere.

Autumn (September to November)

Another peak time for trekking in the Langtang Valley is autumn when the skies are usually clear and the views of the Langtang range are stunning. The weather is usually stable, with temperatures between 5°C and 15°C during the day. The trails are not so muddy, and the air is crisp and fresh, which makes it a perfect time for outdoor activities. Autumn also coincides with the festival season in Nepal, so you might also get to experience some of the local cultural celebrations along the way.

Very Tara was accommodating, from the intial emails and calls until we arrived there. He was flexible as I changed my mind several times during the planning process. He personally accompanied us during the tour and it shows he is a very experienced guide/ owner. He has done a lot of the treks himself so you feel secured with him. Overall what a positive experience booking with this company!
