This covers basic hotel stays, three meals a day, local transportation, and modest sightseeing expenses. Costs can vary depending on your choice of accommodation and activities—luxury stays and guided treks will increase your total budget, while guesthouses and street food help lower it considerably.
2. Which Month Is Best to Visit Nepal?
The ideal time to explore Nepal is during autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). These periods offer clear skies, gentle breezes, vibrant landscapes, and mild temperatures—perfect for trekking, sightseeing, and cultural wanderings. Autumn also aligns with major local festivals, adding vivid cultural experiences to your trip.
3. How Can I Plan a 7-Day Trip to Nepal?
A well-balanced 7-day Nepal itinerary might look like this:
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. Dive into heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and soak in Thamel’s energy.
Day 2: Discover Patan and Bhaktapur’s ancient artistry and traditional architecture.
Day 3: Journey to Pokhara. In the evening, stroll by serene Phewa Lake.
Day 4: Watch sunrise from Sarangkot, visit local waterfalls or the World Peace Pagoda.
Day 5: Return to Kathmandu. Explore Swayambhunath and enjoy street food around Asan or Thamel.
Day 6: Venture into nearby natural or cultural attractions—consider a short trip to Chitwan (for wildlife) or a cooking and homestay experience in a village.
Day 7: Last-minute souvenirs, visit markets, then head home.
This mix allows you to experience both cultural depth and natural beauty in a memorable week.
4. How to Spend 5 Days in Nepal?
A compact 5-day itinerary can be just as enriching:

Day 2: UNESCO gems—Patan or Bhaktapur.
Day 3: Head to Pokhara; enjoy lakeside calm in the evening.
Day 4: A sunrise at Sarangkot followed by local sightseeing.
Day 5: Back to Kathmandu for final exploration and shopping.
It’s a tight but satisfying blend of city life, heritage, and scenic escape.
5. Which Month Offers the Lowest Travel Costs?
July typically sees the most affordable travel deals to Nepal. This falls squarely in the monsoon season (June to August), when reduced tourist numbers mean cheaper accommodations and tour prices. Keep in mind, though, this is rainier and less ideal for mountainous activities.
6. Do You Need a Visa for Nepal?
For Indian citizens: No visa is required. You have full travel freedom and can enter with an Indian passport or a Voter ID card featuring your photo.
For other nationalities: A visa on arrival is available (commonly for 15, 30, or 90 days). You can also apply online beforehand if preferred.
7. Is Nepal Expensive for a Tourist?
Not at all. Nepal offers exceptional value, with deeply affordable accommodations, meals, and transport—especially when compared to many global destinations. Whether you’re hiking to Himalayan vistas or touring urban streets, you’ll find plenty of experiences that go easy on your wallet.
8. Is One Week Enough Time to Explore Nepal?
Yes, one week offers an excellent window into Nepal’s diversity. You can comfortably cover Kathmandu’s historical core, the serene landscapes of Pokhara, and even a windfall side activity—like wildlife or village immersion. It’s a wonderful duration for a meaningful and varied journey.
9. How Much Money Should I Budget for a 7-Day Trip?
Estimated Budget (excluding flights):
Accommodation: USD 25–30/day → USD 175–210
Food: USD 10–15/day → USD 70–105
Transportation, entrance fees, extras: USD 60–100
Total: Roughly USD 305–415 depending on preferences.
Adjust up or down for fine dining, luxury hotels, or extended treks.
10. Are Four Days Enough to Visit Nepal?
Yes—it’s brief but doable. Focus tightly:
Days 1–2: Kathmandu’s temples, plazas, and alleys.
Days 3–4: A quick trip to Pokhara for lakeside calm and mountain views.
You’ll leave with a feel for Nepal’s warmth and heritage—meaningful, even if short.
11. How Much Money Should I Keep Per Day?
Plan for USD 40–60 per day within Nepal (not counting flights):
Accommodation: USD 25–30
Meals: USD 10–15
Extras (transport, snacks, entrance fees): USD 5–15
Cash helps—some small shops and eateries prefer it. ATMs are available in cities, but carry a safety buffer.

No—Indian travelers enjoy special visa-free entry, according to the India-Nepal bilateral arrangement. A valid Indian document (passport or photo Voter ID) suffices.
13. Is INR Accepted in Nepal?

Fees vary depending on duration and nationality, but typically range from USD 30 to USD 50, depending on your passport and visa length (e.g., 15, 30, or 90 days). Current fees can be confirmed with Nepal’s immigration website or your local embassy.

Here’s how to stretch your travel budget:
Travel during off-peak (e.g., monsoon months) for lower prices.
Choose guesthouses or homestays over hotels.

Return to the hotel afterward.
-
Day 3 :
Pashupatinath Temple and Stupa Visit
Breakfast will be followed by a visit to the Pashupatinath Hindu Temple, one of the most significant temples for Hindus worldwide. Lord Pashupatinath is regarded as an incarnation of the supreme Hindu deity, Shiva. The term “Pashupati” translates to “lord of all living beings,” indicating that Pashupatinath is revered as the supreme god for all creatures. During major festivals, the temple attracts over two hundred thousand pilgrims in a single day. Adjacent to Pashupatinath flows the Bagmati River, considered one of the holiest rivers, where visitors often bathe.
Along the banks of this river, numerous cremation platforms are present, where many Hindus choose to cremate their deceased. It is a widely held belief among Hindus that cremation at the feet of Lord Shiva grants them passage to heaven.
Following this, there will be a drive to Sankhu, a quaint Newari town, where a brief walk will lead to the Bajra Jogini Temple, dedicated to the tantric goddess. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Bouddhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in South Asia and a significant Buddhist monument. Surrounding the stupa are several important Buddhist monasteries, including the Shakyapa Monastery and the Shechen Monastery, both of which are worthy of exploration. The Bouddhanath Stupa is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
-
Day 4 :
Bhaktapur Visit and Drive to Sarangakot, Pokhara
Breakfast will be followed by a drive to Bhaktapur, a city renowned for its rich traditions and cultural heritage within the Kathmandu Valley. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which houses the Royal Palace, along with the remarkable temples that define this city, known as the City of Devotees. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur features significant attractions such as Pottery Square, Nyatpola Temple, and the Dattatraya Temple.
Among the three major cities in the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur stands out as the most traditional, located just 15 kilometers from Kathmandu. The majority of Bhaktapur’s residents are engaged in agriculture, cultivating various food grains and vegetables. It is noteworthy that some individuals, even at the age of 80, have never ventured to Kathmandu, highlighting the enduring traditional lifestyle of the Bhaktapur community.
Historically, prior to the 15th century, Bhaktapur served as the ruling center of the entire Kathmandu Valley. During the 15th century, a king in Bhaktapur established three kingdoms for the convenience of his three sons, leading to the formation of Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, and Patan. This division resulted in ongoing competition and conflict among the kingdoms, ultimately weakening them and leading to their loss of power to the Shah dynasty in the 17th century.
Following this, one may choose to drive or fly to Pokhara, a prominent tourist destination in Nepal, celebrated for its stunning natural beauty. Pokhara is characterized by its picturesque lakes, waterfalls, gorges, caves, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
-
Day 5 :
Pokhara City Tour
In the morning, embark on a 25-minute drive to Sarangkot Hill to witness the sunrise and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Sarangkot is renowned as one of the most picturesque locations in Pokhara for observing the snow-capped mountains and the sunrise. On a clear day, one can see the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range, Fishtail, and Manaslu, all of which rise above 8,000 meters. Simultaneously, the stunning Phewa Lake and Pokhara Valley can be admired.
After returning to the hotel for breakfast, make a stop at Bindhyabasini Temple along the way. This temple is one of the most significant religious sites in Pokhara, associated with Hinduism. Bindhyabasini is an incarnation of Goddess Durga, who symbolizes power in Hindu belief. She is revered as a formidable goddess who accepts sacrifices during major festivals.
The day will be dedicated to sightseeing in Pokhara City.
Begin with boating on Phewa Lake, a major attraction in Pokhara, which is often referred to as the Valley of Lakes. Phewa Lake covers an area of 5.7 square kilometers.
Next, visit Devi’s Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Pokhara, which cascades from the dam of Phewa Lake. On July 31, 1961, a Swiss couple was bathing near the falls when the woman tragically drowned in a pit and was lost. Her body was discovered three days later, and the falls were subsequently named after her, although its original Nepali name is Patale Chhango.
Proceed to the Tibetan Refugee Camp, another notable attraction in Pokhara. Following the invasion of Tibet by the Chinese Red Army in 1960, many Tibetans fled their homeland for safety. Some sought refuge in Dharamsala, India, while others came to Nepal. In 1962, the International Red Cross established a refugee camp near Devi’s Falls. The Tibetan community is known for their craftsmanship in handmade carpets and souvenirs, and they continue to sustain their livelihoods through these businesses.
Explore the Mountain Museum: The Mountain Museum in Pokhara is yet another captivating destination in the area. It showcases the history of climbing in Nepal and features the essential equipment required for mountain ascents.

Upon your arrival at the hotel in Chitwan National Park, lunch will be provided. Following lunch, you will have some time to rest. In the late afternoon, you will embark on a tour of a Tharu village. The Tharu people are the indigenous inhabitants of Chitwan, having settled in the region around the 14th century. Prior to the 19th century, the area was largely uninhabitable for anyone other than the Tharu due to malaria. Once malaria was controlled, many individuals migrated from the mountainous regions to the lowlands of Nepal, including Chitwan. During this time, you will also visit the elephant stable. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a sunset view at the edge of the Rapti River while sipping tea or coffee.
-

From the bustling streets of Kathmandu to the serene beauty of Pokhara and the cultural richness of Lumbini, every part of the journey was well-organized. The vehicle was comfortable, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and we got to experience Nepal’s diverse landscapes and traditions in a hassle-free way. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see Nepal beyond just trekking
