FANTASTIC SAILUNG TRIP NEPAL

I was with an American family to camping trek in Sailung, Dolakha from 21 to 23 March, 2015. The fantastic trip started with a Ford Jeep drive till Dhunge where we stayed in tents for two nights. On the first day, we left Kathmandu at 9am and arrived Deurali at 1 pm where we had a nice lunch  with our guests prepared by our staff members. After we walked about one hour, it started raining. We had a rainy drive to Dhunge till the evening. We fixed the tents and made snacks and dinner at camp site with the help of local people.

Next day morning, we had breakfast in the open space near by the tents. The second day walk took about  2 hours to the Sailung Hill. We enjoyed 30 minutes in Sailung Danda (Hill) and came back to camp site. In the evening, the locals performed a culture program which was really admirable. Our  guest girls enjoyed and participated in the dance with the villagers.

On the 3rd day, we distributed some pencils, copies, sweets, and football to the school children through the principle of a local school. Local people organied a lovely farewell who gave each of us rhododendron flower garland. They helped us to make our departure. On the way back to Kathmandu, we made a lunch break close to the Bhote Koshi River. Self made lunch on a big ground, near by the river, was like a picnic.

Wonderful view of Himalayas, overnight in the tents, a pleasant hike, warm welcome by local people, outdoor kitchen and delicious meat of local chicken was a great experience.
